Currently we are working near the city of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda in East Africa. The orphanage and school are run by Pastor Samuel Muhima. This orphanage/school houses around 40 children. We have been working with them to build a level of self reliance and hope for their future.

What the Funds Will Be Used For

ChristianFlower.com is working to supply food, clean water, medical care, and shelter for the children living in the orphanage. Basic essentials that most people take for granted are always in short supply in the third world. Our primary task is to address these needs first.

This is where are largest effort is currently being undertaken and we want ChristianFlower.com to play a large role in this. Ultimately the goal of ChristianFlower.com is to help build a better life for these people. In Uganda, as elsewhere, an education is one of the primary attributes which determines the quality of life. In addition to being an orphanage that houses children and staff Pastor Sam is also running a school. The children know how hard life can be, most have been on the street for years, either abandoned by their parents, or have no parents, losing them to either sickness or war. They fully understand the value of going to school and doing well. When you purchase flowers from ChristianFlower.com the majority of the proceeds will be sent to the fund these efforts.

Ultimately self reliance depends on your ability to generate resources for yourself. Furthermore graduating from school without a place to start is not a path to self reliance either. ChristianFlower.com is working to help Pastor Sam solve both these problems in a unique way. Our orphanage has started a computer school and internet café. While computers, and computer skills, are readily available in developed nations they are not in the third world. This emerging, long term opportunity will provide a lasting solution for these children when they graduate from school and the general community as well. In Uganda people have to travel for miles to read email, there are few places that can repair or build computers, even sending a fax is a major undertaking and expense.

Few people have basic computer skills and have little hope of obtaining them. This effort addresses so many needs at once. This school and internet café has taken two years to create and went on line a little less than a year ago. Already people are using these machine and we have graduated our first crop of students. We are meeting people from all over Kampala as they start to use this resource. Any revenue that Pastor Sam and ChristianFlower.com generate through this school is used to supply the orphanage with needed supplies.
